October 28th marked the one-year anniversary of Detroit Pistons guard Jodie Meeks’ broken foot injury. “I was in a pick-and-roll, I turned right, and I heard it pop. I felt it, obviously, but it was a bad night for me,” said Meeks of his injury. He had suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal, sidelining him for the next 79 games. Meeks had to have two surgeries, as the injury was not healing properly, and he was currently still recovering from his injury in late October. Meeks was hopeful that he would be able to practice in “a few weeks.”

Broken Foot Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment

Common Symptoms of Broken Feet:
Those that suspect they have a broken foot shoot seek urgent medical attention where a medical professional could diagnose the severity.
Treatment for broken bones varies depending on the cause, severity and location. Some will require the use of splints, casts or crutches while others could even involve surgery to repair the broken bones. Personal care includes the use of ice and keeping the foot stabilized and elevated.
